Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Introduction
This course teaches fundamental coding skills for an outpatient physician setting and prepares the student to take the AAPC CPC exam for a career in medical coding. It provides the most up-to-date information relating to CPT®, HCPCS and ICD-9-CM coding and assures a broad encompassing knowledge and expertise in reviewing and assigning the correct procedure and diagnosis codes for physician services. Successful completion of this course indicates that students are prepared to take the CPC Exam.

The instructional methods used include reading assignments, practice exercises, discussion board assignments, review quizzes, and final review test.
Final Exam & Grading
The CPC certification test is a seated exam. It is NOT online. At the completion of the program you will register at an authorized AAPC testing center to take the certification examination. (Test Fees are not included in course tuition)The exam is open book. You are allowed to use CPT, ICD9 and HCPCS. You have a maximum of five hours to complete the examination. A minimum score of 75 is required to pass the exam.
