With many of us working from home indefinitely due to COVID-19, it is important to know some tips and tricks to be productive while working from home.
Here are some tips to make your home a bit more like work to help you stay mentally focused on your job:
Have a workstation
First thing, make sure you have a setup at home. Whether that’s a desk or kitchen table, make yourself sit up and alert.
The likelihood is your entire company is working from home, or at least the ones that can are. Be sure to manage your time and expectations with what you can and cannot get done in an 8-hour day.
You know yourself. Do you need to put on business attire to get yourself in the mindset? Do that. Do you work better with background music? Turn some music on. Know what your weaknesses are when working from home and implement progress to work on them.
Stay connected with your team. Let them know you’re around if they need anything.
Don’t be afraid to reach out to the team if you need assistance or need help completing a task. If you would communicate about it in the office, communicate it when you’re working remotely.
Do housework on your lunch break
Want to be ready to go back to work after your lunch break? Do some house work. Nothing will make you more excited to get back to work!
Sign out when your work day is done
When you have made it through your work day, sign out, literally and mentally. Though there isn’t any space since we are all mostly stuck at home, we need to be sure we are normalizing everything as much as possible.
